Shark Tank Critic Visits The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale

We’ve all heard of ABC’s TV Series Shark Tank.
Each episode features a series of investment proposals from the owner(s) of a business. Any of the Sharks may decide to make an offer to the entrepreneur. If offers are made, the entrepreneur must decide whether to accept, or decline.
One of the “Sharks” is Kevin Harrington, who currently visited The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.

On Januray 26, 2010, Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale Advertising instructor Marcia Fernandes hosted the college’s version of ABC's Shark Tank with Kevin Harrington, currently a critic on ABC's "Shark Tank," and CEO of TV Goods participating on the panel, along with Scott Swank and Laurie Braden of Global TV Concepts. Together they critiqued inventors’ products, giving them valuable insights into the new product industry and what would be necessary to succeed with their products.

Eighteen inventors pitched their product ideas in hopes of making it to the next round of consideration for production by Global TV Concepts and a possible deal of producing their creation for sale in the marketplace. Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale alumni, students, and staff were among those who cajoled and tried to persuade the panel that their invention was the one they should choose for possible manufacturing and marketing.

"Who Dat?"

Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints, Super Bowl XLIV winners, and Congratulations to Drew Brees, who took the MVP award.

"We just believed in ourselves. We knew we had an entire city and maybe an entire country behind us" said Brees. "We played for the entire Who Dat nation that was behind us every step of the way. What can I say? We've been blessed with so much, and to have this opportunity is unbelievable. Four years ago, whoever thought this would be happening? Eighty-five percent of the city was under water. Most people didn't know if New Orleans would come back or if the team would even come back. But we stuck together. We had a mindset. We said, 'We're going to rebuild together, and we're going to lean on each other. We're going to come back stronger.' It's unbelievable. Forever now, we will walk together. We will walk together forever as world champions. This championship is for you New Orleans."

Saints won 31-17 against the Indiana Colts.
"Who dat? Who dat? Who dat say dey gunna beat them Saints?"
Guess, we’ll have to see next season because for this one they are THE Super Bowl Champions.
